“As an artist reading it, it leaves me with a sense of direction…”
— T.T., Get Unstuck reader
Move beyond staring at a blank canvas with prompts for finding inspiration and getting started.
Explore what isn’t working and find fresh direction when you reach the messy middle.
Work with self-doubt and learn to recognise when it may be time to stop.

A painting that isn’t coming together can leave you questioning far more than the marks on the canvas. I know that feeling from my own practice.
I created Get Unstuck as a companion for those moments: practical and mindset-based prompts to help you pause, look differently and find your own way forward.
You choose the prompt that meets you where you are. There’s no need to work through the guide in order.
Also included: an introduction and a Mindset Quiz to help you discover your creative block mindset type, with tips for moving forward.
When ideas feel out of reach and you need a fresh starting point.
When you’re ready to make something but don’t know how to begin.
When a painting loses direction and you’re unsure where to take it.
When you need to look closely and diagnose why a painting feels unresolved.
When the negative voices get louder than your own creative instincts.
When you’re weighing up another change—or leaving the painting alone.
66 concise prompts in a PDF booklet of over 40 pages.
Go to the section that matches where you feel stuck today.
Read a short suggestion and give yourself space to consider it.
Try an idea, reflect on what changes, and return to the guide whenever you need another perspective.
At first I wanted to print it out and have it as a guide on my studio wall but quickly realized it was too extensive for that.
So now I have it on my computer desktop and when I read it I imagine YOU saying the words to me. As if you were my mentor.
Having taken classes online with you I can see and hear you and this helps me through my creative process.
As you say in the introduction each point could be a chapter in a book but it is so nice to have it in a concise format to be more useful day to day.
Thank you once again for your wisdom and sharing of ideas so freely.

As an artist reading it, it leaves me with a sense of direction and if I were at any of the 'stages' you mention, I would feel supported and that there was a plan of action I could use to propel me and my artwork forward.
I like the tone of your writing. It feels nurturing and speaks directly to a problem with a solution without being too wordy (not an easy thing to do... so big well done on that too !!).
I especially enjoy how you have set it all out into 'chapters' like getting started, messy middle etc. It reads really well that way and addresses the important issues from art principles to artistic mindset (with possible solutions to them all). T.T.

I’m Kasia, a mixed-media artist and educator working just outside London. I create large-scale layered paintings that I describe as emotional landscapes.
This guide grew out of my own experience of the creative process: the uncertainty, the self-doubt, and the small shifts that help me keep going.
My aim is to help you build resilience and confidence in your own artistic voice.
This resource is for any artist, beginner or seasoned pro, who has ever been stuck or in the grip of a creative block, and would like a treasure chest of prompts for every stage of the creative process.
